Day 1: AIRPORT – SLOVENIAN COAST
Arrival at the airport of Trieste / Venice / Rijeka. Transfer to the Slovenian coast. Accommodation on the Slovenian coast.
Day 2: PIRAN – KOPER – PORTOROZ
Breakfast. Today you will visit the Slovenian cast. You will start with the visit of Piran, which is a city of special value. It is the best-preserved urban cultural monument in Slovenian Istria and the closest city to the mundane Portorož. After you will continue the city of Koper, the most important city on the Slovenian coast. You will pass through the streets of the city and you will be able to see Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque constructions. Free time to enjoy in Portoroz – or Portorose in Italian. Accommodation on the Slovenian coast.
Day 3: PORTOROZ – POREC – ROVINJ – PULA
After breakfast, transfer to Croatian Istria. The first city in Istria that you will visit will be the city of Porec, where you will visit the Euphrasian Basilica. Afterwards, you will continue to Rovinj, one of the most picturesque cities with Venetian baroque architecture. In the afternoon, you will arrive to Pula. Accommodation in Pula or Fazana.
Day 4: PULA – BRIONI – PULA/FAZANA
After breakfast, you will visit the famous Roman Forum in Pula. The city was built on seven hills and today there are many Roman archaeological remains. The most important monuments, apart from the amphitheater, are the Golden Gate, the August Temple, Kaštel (citadel), the Archaeological Museum of Istria etc. Accommodation in Pula or Fazana.
* Optionally in the afternoon transfer to the port, from where you will go to Brioni National Park, the former residence of Tito in one of the islands where there is also a reserve of animals, an open-air zoo, the Tito museum and much more. But, what attracts most, is the beautiful nature, flora and fauna of Brioni, crystal clear water, etc. If you are a bit adventurous, you can rent a bicycle and tour the island. In the late afternoon, return to Pula / Fazana and free time.
Day 5: PULA – INTERIOR OF ISTRA – LJUBLJANA
Breakfast. Transfer to the interior of Istria and walk through the Istrian villages, rich in local cuisine. You will visit Groznjan and Motovun and you will pass through a typical Istrian farmhouse. In the afternoon, return to Slovenia. Accommodation in Ljubljana.
Day 6: LJUBLJANA
Breakfast at the hotel. Guided tour of Ljubljana. In this wonderful city you will visit the Ljubljana castle, which is the most strategic point of the city, which can be accessed by walking or funicular. From the castle you can enjoy majestic views over the capital and its historic center. Once down again, you will walk along the banks of the Ljubljanica River, which crosses the old town of Ljubljana and over which many bridges pass, among which the Bridge of the Dragons, symbol of the city, stands out. In the afternoon, free time to enjoy the capital, have a coffee in one of the many bars, enjoy the street music that abounds for the walk or eat in one of the corners of the capital. Accommodation in Ljubljana.
Day 7: LJUBLJANA – BLED – BOHINJ – LJUBLJANA
Breakfast. Departure to the beautiful alpine town of Bled, where you will visit the castle of Bled, built on the high rock from where you can enjoy an incredible panoramic view over the lake and the island of Bled. Optionally, you will continue with the traditional boat trip called pletna where you will visit the island of Lake Bled, where the Baroque church of St. Mary is located. In the afternoon you will visit Bohinj, which is the largest lake in Slovenia and is located near Bled. On the way you can see small villages that seem to be built in a fairy tale setting. This glacial lake lies at the foot of the high mountains of the Julian Alps. We also recommend the climb up to the Slap Savica waterfall. Return to the capital and accommodation in Ljubljana.
Day 8: LJUBLJANA – VALLEY OF LOGARSKA– LJUBLJANA
Breakfast. Transfer to the north of the country, where you can enjoy the natural experience offered by the Valley of Logarska. This valley is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful valleys in the Alps. The Valley of Logarska was declared a landscaped park in 1987. The valley is the most visited tourist place in the Solcava area, which in 2009 received the prestigious “European Destination of Excellence” award. There they will visit the Rinka waterfall and the Rinka museum in the village of Solcava. Return to Ljubljana. Accommodation in Ljubljana.
Day 9: LJUBLJANA – POSTOJNA CAVE – PREDJAMA – LJUBLJANA
After breakfast, towards the west of the country. On the way, stop in Postojna to visit the famous Postojna Caves. The cave is accessed by electric train to reach the most spectacular part (The White Room, The Red Room, The Spaghetti Room) and part of the visit is done on foot. After the visit of the Postojna Caves, you will also visit the Predjama Castle, located about 9 kilometers from Postojna. This medieval castle is famous for its incredible location, since it is located under a rock and is connected with grottos and hiding places. Later, return to Ljubljana where you will spend the last night.
Day 10: LJUBLJANA – AEROPUERTO
Transfer to the airport in Venice / Trieste / Rijeka for the return flight. End of trip.
