Itinerary

Take coach holidays in Croatia starting in Venice and continuing to Slovenia & Austria. Enjoy beautiful landscape of four neighbour countries, visiting Alpine valleys with mountain lakes, world’s famous Plitvice Lakes and medieval Adriatic towns of Croatia. You will also have a chance to taste the authentic food and get even wider impression of a particular culture.


DAY 1: AIRPORT – MESTRE

This coach holidays in Croatia actually starts by arriving to Venice airport and transfer to the hotel in Mestre. Accommodation in Mestre.

DAY 2: MESTRE – VENICE – BLED

After breakfast enjoy the guided tour in English of the unique city on water – Venice. Take in the breathtaking Venetian architecture that has been mesmerises visitors for centuries. You will be absolutely amazed by the world famous Palazzo Ducale and Basilica di San Marco, but the treasures hiding in the narrow backstreets are also worth a peek. Evening transfer to Slovenian city of Bled. Dinner and accommodation in Bled area.

DAY 3: BLED – BOHINJ – BLED

After breakfast you will take a relaxed boat ride in traditional pletna to the famous island located in the middle of the gorgeous Lake Bled, centred in the Alpine landscape. Later you will visit the ferry-tale worthy Bled Castle on the top of the mighty cliff and take the best sightseeing picture of the lake and the highest Slovenian Mountains. Later, you will continue to another Alpine lake Bohinj – famous for its intact and peaceful character. Imagine walking by the lake, surrounded by mountains, forests and small Alpine villages. Return to Bled for the night.

DAY 4: BLED – KLAGENFURT – WÖRTH LAKE – BLED

Breakfast and morning cross of the border with Austria. Driving through the epic Carinthia country towards the Lake Wőrth. You will be surprised over its 20 km length and magical spirit. Then you will visit the city of Klagenfurt. Walking through the old city town you will notice why we call this town, University town. Besides the huge amount of students, you will be impressed by the beauty of old part of the town, especially the main square Altplatz with a famous Lindworm fountain. Lunch before returning to Bled. Accommodation in Bled.

DAY 5: BLED – POSTOJNA CAVE – PREDJAMA CASTLE – ROVINJ

After the breakfast you will continue this escorted tour by visiting the world famous Postojna Caves and Predjama Castle. Entering the cave you will take an unforgettable train drive, which will take you through the largest cave system in Europe open to public. Next stop will be 700 years old Predjama Castle, which is famous for its strategic position just in front of another kartic cave. In the afternoon you will cross the border to Croatia and drive on towards the pretty town of Rovinj. Accommodation in Rovinj.

DAY 6: ROVINJ – ISTRIA INTERIOR – PULA – ROVINJ

After the breakfast city tour around Rovinj, little, historical, Istria town, with a romantic soul. Walking the numerous narrow streets, you will find yourself admiring pictures and other artistic masterpieces hanging on the walls of the streets. Another feature that will impress you is the Basilica of St. Euphemia above the town and its location with gorgeous panorama views. You will spend the afternoon exploring the tastes of Istria. The famous Istrian truffle and extra virgin olive oil are just two of many of the well known local producers. Before the day is over you will also visit Pula – city with a long history, known by its very well preserved roman amphitheatre. Return to Rovinj for overnight.

DAY 7: ROVINJ – OPATIJA – LAKE BAJER – PLITVICE LAKES

After breakfast this coach holidays in Croatia continue with a transfer to Opatija, once a prime winter destinations for Austro-Hungarian elite. Free time for sightseeing majestic villas and vintage historical hotels. Take a walk along Lungmare promenade, enter the pretty Angiolina Park, and enjoy a view at Wagner’s terrace. Later in the day passing the Gorski Kotar Region you will arrive to the small village of Fužine, on the shores of the Lake Bajer. Before continuing the Plitvice National Park, you will enjoy a traditional lunch made of fresh local ingredients. Accommodation at Plitvice.

DAY 8: PLITVICE LAKES – SPLIT

Breakfast and then entering one of the world’s most impressive national parks – Natural Park Plitvice. You will get a chance to spend hours walking through green woods, around astonishing lakes and waterfalls. In the afternoon you will continue to Split. Evening city tour around the largest city of the Adriatic coast. You will see the monument of Grgur Ninski, St. Domnius Cathedral and Bell Tower and Diocletian’s Palace, built at 4th century by the Roman emperor Diocletian. Dinner in a typical Dalmatian restaurant – konoba. Accommodation in Split.

DAY 9: SPLIT – AIRPORT

Breakfast and free time until the transfer to the airport. You can also choose to add three more nights and continue the trip to Dubrovnik or board one of the cruises from Split.
