Below are just some of the most popular examples.

Spa Holidays in Slovenia

Most of the spa resorts in Slovenia are located in the eastern part of the country, in the so called Štajerska region. This hilly, wine-producing area is perfect for half-day trips before or after your beauty treatments. There are numerous castles and monasteries waiting to be discovered. Among others we would definitely recommend Podsreda Castle and Olimje monastery. You can also extend the exploration area across the Croatian border which runs nearby and visit the bucolic Zagorje region with its green hills, well maintained vineyards, baroque churches and fairy-tale castles such are Trakošćan Castle and Veliki Tabor.

You can choose to do this road-trips on your own, or we can organise a personal driver guide who will pick you up from your spa resort hotel at the designated time and show you around the major towns in the region. One of them is Ptuj, the oldest settlement in Slovenia, which originates back in the Roman times when it was known as Poetovio. You should deferentially consider visiting, even if you are not a history buff, as its cobblestone streets provide a perfect strolling area and the views from its castle are nothing short of gorgeous.

List of other visit-worthy towns in the area include Maribor, the second largest settlement in Slovenia known for the oldest vine in the world and historic Celje with the biggest fortress in the country, once home to the influential counts of Celje.

Since you are already here, Slovenian capital of Ljubljana and the fairy-tale alpine village of Bled are two of the must-see attractions deserving of a full-day excursion. Same goes for the world famous Postojna Cave – the largest cave system in Europe open to public which will not leave you indifferent – and the Croatian capital of Zagreb which is just across the border.

WINE LIST OF ŠTAJERSKA

By now Slovenia has established itself as a strong player on the world wine map. There are three main wine regions within this tiny country and two of them are located in the eastern part, called Štajerska, where most wellness resorts are also to be found. Since you are already spending spa holidays in these parts, taking a quality wine tour seems like an obvious upgrade, don’t you think?

It might come to you as an unexpected surprise, but gastronomy experiences are actually one of the highlights of Slovenia and wine tasting should definitely be on the list of every food-loving traveller. We would be happy to organise you a typical Slovenian wine tour in family-run wine cellars of Štajerska region, paired with samples of local specialities. The landlords will be proud to explain that everything on the plate is locally produced. And what about those views from the top of the vineyard hills?

Furthermore you can easily combine spa holidays in Slovenia with other cultural itineraries in our offer and include northern Croatia with the peninsula of Istria and Plitvice National Park or continue your tour all the way to Dubrovnik.
