So how many days do you need in Slovenia depends on what would you like to visit and experience in this beautiful pocket country. But this is for sure three days is a bit tight to taste what Slovenia has to offer.

If spending time in nature is what makes you happy you should definitely come to Slovenia. There is an infinity of activities you can do in Slovenia, a country that has everything: mountains, lakes, rivers, a bit of coast.

You can come to the lush forests of Slovenia to observe the largest beast in Europe – the brown bear in natural habitat. Also you can see what is beneath the surface. There is more than 30.000 caves. Two of them are the Caves of Postojna and the Caves of Šcocjan which are also a great opportunity to hike. If you prefer the breeze of the Adriatic Sea you can enjoy it riding a bicicle by the Adriatic Sea shore. And offcourse there are also the Alps with the alpine lakes and rivers that offer a lot of outdoor fun.

If your cup of tea is to wander around historical towns and cities then in a surfice of only 20.271 square kilometers you can find a history book in situ. Therefor how many days do you need in Slovenia is mearly a question on which historical era is in your interess thus in the croasroads of central Europe many empires left a piece of ther culture behind. You can find rests of roman cities all ower Slovenia you can see that already the Romans had a good taste for where to buil ther villas. There is a nice evidence of that in form of a beautifull roman mosaic at the slovenian coast close to the charming town of Isola. In the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana you can admire the roman ingenious way of building their homes. There you can also see the wall of the roman city of Emona. Then you can go towards the north-east side of the coutry to wisit Ptuj, the oldest town in Slovenia where you can see the temple of dedicated to Mitra and one of only two statues of tauroctony in the world. Ona is in Paris in the Louvre museum and the second is here in Slovenia. To experience roman history in Slovenia we suggest you take at least 5 days.

If you are more into medieval history there is plenty to see from the castle on a clif abowe the lake of Bled, the castle of Predjama built at the entrance of a cave to the mayestic castle of Celje. Then there are the oldest towns in Slovenia Ptuj, Škofja Loka and Piran telling the story of different empires and fevdal lords. Each of them has a particular story and architecture but Piran is the outstanding one since it belonged to the Venetians for 500 years. So to tell how many days do you need in Slovenia is a hard decision. But for sure one week would give you the time necessary to explore the historical towns among which we shoul newer skip the capital Ljubljana with a clear medieval structure of the old town between the castle hill and the river.
